The unit for ‘Research Policy and Development’ works in several nationally and internationally funded projects. Its core competencies comprise social-scientific S&T policy studies, patterns of techno-globalisation, international management of S&T, RTDI evaluation, etc. Thematically relevant network projects funded under FP6 include ‘LAC-ACCESS (Connecting High-Quality Research between the European Union and Latin American and Caribbean Countries)’, the ‘Information Office of the Steering Platform on Research for Western Balkan countries’, the ‘Southeast European Era-Net (SEE-ERA.NET)’, etc..
Projects with a research focus on S&T policy include "Recognising Central and Eastern European Centres of RTD: Perspectives for the European Research Area (ERA) – RECORD ", "Priorities in Research and Development in Southeast Europe" and "Counselling for the Austrian Ministry for Foreign Affairs regarding projects in the field of education under the Official Development Assistance - ODA" and " PRO-ACT: Practical Regional Innovation Policy in Action".
